Restorers are working on cleaning the ancient frescoes on the walls of the historic cathedral, which was used by the Moscow church for a long time, from soot and dirt.

Sophia of Kyiv, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the historical center ensemble of Lviv, the residence of Bukovinian Metropolitans, and other objects included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the UNESCO Preliminary List received the highest level of protection.

The cultural landscape of the city, including the Ancient Rus temple complex of the Chernihiv Dytynets, the Yeletsky Monastery and the sacred monuments on Boldini Hills, can receive the status of world heritage.

This became possible thanks to the opening of the bridge over the Desna River in the Chernihiv region. The Ministry of Hromadas Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine announced this on its Facebook page.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine is preparing a nomination file for inclusion of the cultural landscape of Chernihiv in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

By the end of March, the Moscow Patriarchate must return the Transfiguration Cathedral and the complex of buildings of the Troitsky and Yeletsky monasteries to the state.
